About FastDDNS
FastDDNS is a free dynamic DNS service that keeps one fixed hostname pointed at a changing IP address, so you can reach a camera, DVR, NVR, router or home server from anywhere. It has been built and operated independently since 2015.
Our mission
Remote access should not depend on paying for a static IP address or on remembering an address that changes every few days. We keep dynamic DNS free, simple and dependable for the people who need it most: installers and owners of camera systems, small offices and home labs.
Built and operated since 2015
The service has run without a break since 2015: it launched as homeip.vn, became vncctv.com in 2017, and has carried the FastDDNS name on fastddns.net since 2022. It now keeps more than 40,000 hostnames pointed at changing IP addresses for 19,000 accounts, across 30 domains you can pick a name from, on the web and through the Android and iOS apps.
The update path is deliberately plain: your device or client sends a DynDNS-compatible HTTP request, and the new IP address is live on our DNS servers in under a minute. That same API is what lets a wide range of cameras, DVRs and NVRs work with no extra software, and what makes a misconfigured device easy to diagnose.
We run FastDDNS without outside funding. The free tier survives because the service is lightweight by design, and the paid plans bought by people who need more hostnames cover what it costs to keep the DNS and update infrastructure online. No user data is sold to make up the difference.

Minh Nguyen is the founder and developer of FastDDNS. He has built and run the service since 2015, and it now keeps more than 40,000 hostnames pointed at changing IP addresses for CCTV, DVR and NVR installations, routers and home servers. He also develops the FastDDNS mobile app and writes the device setup guides published here.

A free tier that stays usable
The free plan gives you a hostname you renew once a year, plus temporary hostnames for short jobs. No credit card, and no 30-day confirmation email that silently deletes your hostname when you miss it.
Built for cameras and recorders
CCTV, DVR and NVR devices are the main target rather than an afterthought. Hostname formats, update behaviour and our guides are all shaped by what those devices actually send.
Updates that land fast
An IP change reaches our DNS in under a minute, so a device that reconnects after an outage is reachable again almost immediately.

Setup guides are written by a named person from hands-on work with the hardware, and we say plainly when a device or a network cannot be made to work.
Who uses FastDDNS
Most of our users are security installers and camera owners who need to reach a recorder on a home or office line with no static IP. Alongside them are people running a NAS, a game server, a Home Assistant box or a remote desktop, and small teams who need a stable address for a router or a site-to-site VPN.
Where dynamic DNS is not enough, we say so. If your connection sits behind CGNAT, no DDNS provider can open a port for you, and we point you at the fix that actually works instead of selling you a plan that will not help.
How we create and review content
Everything published here exists to get a device online, so we hold it to the standard we would want ourselves. Guides carry a byline, are checked against real hardware and the running service, and are revised when something changes.
Written by a named person
Each guide carries a real byline rather than an anonymous brand voice. Articles come from hands-on configuration of the devices they cover, not from rewriting other websites.
Checked against real devices
Before publishing, the steps are followed on the actual camera, recorder or router wherever possible, and against the live update API. Menu paths, ports and field names are quoted the way they appear on the device.
Updated and dated
When firmware, an app or our own service changes, the affected pages are revised and their date refreshed instead of being left to age. If we get something wrong, we correct it.
Transparency and how to reach us
We try to be clear about what the service does and does not do. FastDDNS resolves a hostname to your current IP address; it does not tunnel your traffic, hide your IP address or open ports on your router. Port forwarding and a public IP address are still your side of the job, and our guides say so.
